Robert P. Navarro, Pharm.D.
Robert Navarro is Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy, University of Florida, College of Pharmacy, Gainesville, FL, and a member of the PharmD and graduate programs faculty. Robert also consults to healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical companies through his consulting practice Navarro Pharma, LLC. Navarro has also testified and is accepted by the courts as an expert witness in managed prescription drug program and related patient infringement impact litigations.
His research and consulting interests include drug pricing and contracting, drug market valuation, formulary access and reimbursement, and pharmacy benefit impact on clinical and economic outcomes. He current research interests are in specialty drug access, reimbursement, value assessment, and effect on clinical and economic outcomes.
Navarro has practiced pharmacy in a variety of clinical setting, with the past 30 years in managed care pharmacy. He has managed prescription drug programs at United Health Care, Medica, Health Net of California, Express Scripts, Inc., and was involved in the development of two PBMs.
Robert is a co-founder and the first president of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the AMCP Foundation. He received the FMCP Steven G. Avey Award in 2009, and remains involved through the AMCP Learning Institute,
He is editor of the textbook, Managed Care Pharmacy Practice (1999 and 2009 editions; 3rd edition in progress), and lead author of the managed care pharmacy chapters of the last three editions of the textbook Essentials of Managed Health Care. He has served as interim editor and member of the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, and is a manuscript reviewer for various health care publications. He lectures and publishes on managed care pharmacy topics.

Founded in 2002, The Carolan Group is a leading pharmaceutical and biotech staffing firm specializing in Medical Affairs and Medical Science Liaison recruitment. There he is responsible for leading a team of expert sourcers, recruiters and account managers in client expansions for various levels of field based Medical Affairs professionals including Medical Science Liaisons, MSL Directors, Managed Care MSLs as well as various support roles. From one MSL hire to an entire organization, Tom has placed direct hires and contract MSL professionals in many therapeutic areas including CNS, Oncology, Virology, Cardiometabolic, Transplant, Pain/CNS, Respiratory, Renal, GI, Nutritionals, and OTC.
Tom is a frequent speaker and MSL Trainer at both client and industry meetings. His strategic interests focus on the development and training of MSLs and field based liaison teams. Tom’s MSL skills training is designed to maximize MSL value and improve relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Simon D.S. Mason
Mr. Mason, currently Chief Commerical Officer of MedMeme, is an accomplished pharmaceutical executive with experience in both large companies and start-ups. Mr. Mason’s prior experience includes Merck & Co., Physicians’ Online (now part of WebMD), Cegedim Dendrite, Skila and SkilaMederi. Mr. Mason is currently active as an investor, consultant and board member to companies in the pharmaceutical services sector. He is also founder of the non-profit Association of Medical Affairs Professionals (AMAP).
Neil H. Gray
Prior to joining inVentiv Health in September 2011 as Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs within inVentiv’s Therapeutics Institute, Neil was Managing Partner of Bridgewater-based Healthcare Trends & Strategies, LLC. He preceded HT&S as Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Strategy for Wolters Kluwer Health’s Pharma Solutions division in Parsippany, NJ. There he was responsible for new product development, brand management, advertising and promotion, public relations, market research, and competitive intelligence. Neil also managed the organization’s editorial resource center (ADIS) in Auckland, NZ and its IT functions. Prior to this appointment, Neil was Senior Vice President, Strategy and Commercial Development, as well as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales at Advanced Clinical Communications in Lambertville, NJ. Before his time at Advanced, Neil was Senior Vice President, Managing Director of Torre Lazur Managed Care from 1996-1999, responsible for creating provider communications and patient preparedness programs, compliance and persistency initiatives, health risk assessments, patient education, wellness and prevention initiatives, population-based, quality of life and back-to-work studies, and advocacy group development.
A frequent speaker and conference leader at industry meetings, his strategic interests focus on advocacy, competitive intelligence, new product development, and medical scientific liaisons’ (MSL) differentiation and competition via leadership, value, and problem solving. Neil founded the MSL Research Group on LinkedIn in May 2008.
